The herbs used for extraction are Astragalus membranaceus (Fisch.) Bge. var. mongholicus (Bge.) Hsiao and Astragalus membranaceus (Fisch.) Bge, which are stipulated in CP 2015.
 
 
2.Brief info and Activity
Astragalus membranaceus mainly contains Astragalus saponins, Astragalus flavonoids, Astragalus polysaccharides, and other components. Astragalosides IV is not only the main component but also the main reference material for evaluating the quality of Astragalus membranaceus.
 
Cycloastragenol is obtained by hydrolyzing the Astragalosides IV which lost the C3-position xylose and the C6-position glucose during the process. 

At present, the mechanism of aging is telomere theory which believes that telomere will be shortened with the increase of cell division times. Telomerase, on the other hand, is the key enzyme to maintain and supplement telomere length.
Cycloastragenol is considered to be telomerase activating agent, which can effectively inhibit telomere shortening by increasing telomerase.

In recent years, it has been confirmed that Cycloastragenol, the aglucon of Astragaloside Ⅳ, has a significant telomerase activation effect and has obvious anti-aging activity.
